• As part of the mandate of Mental Health Foundation to educate people on how to maintain and retain their dignity in the face of mounting problems, challenges, and disorders that confront them in their daily encounters, and to fight for the right of the Mentally challenged. • Stakeholders meetings held at 16, Harvey Road, Sabo-Yaba, on June 8th, 2011 on upcoming workshop tagged: "WOMEN, VULNERABLE CHILDREN AND THE FUTURE OF OUR NATION." Fact: The average life expectancy in Nigeria is 47 years. The implication of this is that there is high tendency for a child to become an orphan before the age of 18 years. Thus, the increase in number of orphans and vulnerable children in Nigeria is inextricably linked to poverty and underdevelopment. And research shows that up to 25% (1/4) of women may suffer from depression in their life.

  ii.   Till date, Mental Health Foundation has run highlighted programs successfully without external funding/grants.
  
  iii.  20th October, 2007, At Soul Institute held in Lagos, Nigeria. A participant with severe emotional disturbance which has illogically twisted his thought pattern to adopt violence was counselled and consequently after some time rehabilitated with the assistance of a psycho therapist, Dr Yinka Jeffery.
  
  

  In 2011, we developed the ‘CARE ON WHEEL’ project, designed to provide house-to-house massive awareness on mental health, free diagnosis, first aid treatment and referrals to grassroots towards reducing the occurrence of mental illness and associated death cases, and build human capacities to sustain sound overall health despite growing fierce challenges of economic hardship. Presently, this project is on the table of the commissioner of Health, at the Lagos State Ministry of Health.
